Ribbon conveyors are usually classified according to the type of tape, three types are possible:
- Direct flat tape
- concave (V-shaped) flat tape
- concave chevar tape (with rubber ribs)
Conveyors with a direct tape are usually used to transmit packaged cargoes – bags, boxes or large lump materials.
The V -shaped tape is used to transmit bulk materials – sand, crushed stone, gravel, etc.
A more expensive chevar tape is usually used to transport bulk materials with a slope of more than 25 degrees.
